At The Farm, we are laying the foundation for a small-scale farming system that prioritises sustainability, biodiversity, and ethical animal husbandry. While we are still in the early stages, our vision includes raising cows, goats, and chickens in a way that benefits both the land and our local ecosystem.

Our approach to farming is rooted in regenerative principles. By carefully managing grazing patterns, we plan to use cows and goats to improve soil health, increase pasture diversity, and reduce the need for external inputs. Rotational grazing will ensure that the land remains productive while giving each area time to recover, promoting healthier pastures and stronger livestock.

Chickens will play a key role in our farm’s ecosystem as well. Not only will they provide eggs and natural pest control, but they will also help improve soil fertility by scratching up the ground and distributing organic matter. Integrating chickens into our system will reduce food waste and contribute to a more closed-loop farming approach.

Beyond livestock, we aim to grow a diverse range of crops that complement our animals’ needs and enhance biodiversity. By incorporating Australian native plants alongside traditional farm crops, we can provide year-round forage for both livestock and pollinators. This interconnected approach ensures that every element of the farm supports another, reducing reliance on outside inputs and creating a resilient, self-sustaining system.

As we move forward, we’ll focus on ethical farming practices, ensuring our animals are raised with care, plenty of space, and access to natural diets. Our goal is to produce high-quality food while nurturing the land for future generations.

Follow our journey as we turn this vision into reality—one step, one pasture, and one animal at a time.
